Macworld 2005 commentary

Well Steve does it again. After every Macworld Jobs announces new products and software which beckons me to hand over my credit card and reinvest in the most sophisticated OS platform on the market. Today was no different despite the early predictions of an "uninspiring", consumer oriented, keynote.

Sure, there were no dual core PowerMac G5s announcements but the new iLife with iPhoto's native RAW support and Final Cut Express with HD support are worthy headlines in my book. The newly announced iWork with Pages seems to make page design and layout a cakewalk for newbies. The Mac Mini and iPod shuffle should help to win over more converts from the PC world but it's pure speculation on how successful these products will be in the immediate to near future. Well I'm off to Apple.com now- so much to read, so little time.
