Quick HDTV update... I've decided to go with the new 52" Samsung 2007 LCD (model LN-T5265F) that was just recently released. It features all the bells and whistles like 3 HDMI 1.3 ports, 178 degree viewing angle (horizontal and vertical), 8ms response time, ATSC tuner, PC port, USB 2.0 port, as well as the usual component, S-Video and composite connections.

Although last years model had blacks that truly impressed me the new version takes it up a notch with its True Black technology. It also features an optimized game mode that Samsung worked with Microsoft on, specifically for the Xbox 360, that turns off video processing to speed up the response time. The only wrinkle is the price, which is currently going for $3,066.07 at Amazon. Although the price is dropping (it was going for $3400 a few weeks ago), I still want to get it in the 2K range before pulling the trigger. So it looks like I'm going to have to wait until next year before finally joining the HD world.
