Episode 1 - Part 2

This is not going to be my full review of Half Life 2 - Episode One, since I have not finished the game yet. It's taking me a long time to complete it because I only get to game during my lunch break from work (which is about 10 mins a day when I'm lucky). From what little I played I can definately give it a big 2 thumbs up. I just wanted to let you know so you all get a chance to pick it up at BestBuy for only $14.99 (sale ends this Saturday).

It's all the fun of Half Life 2 with better graphics. It has the same great textures as before but with more HDR style bloom effects a'la "The Lost Coast" demo as well as more bump mapping (or is it normal mapping? Rob where's that blog???) that seemed to be missing from the original HL2. It also features lots of excellent physics which you get to play around with because of the gravity gun. How can you not like a game with screaming zombies caught on fire? The animation of the characters seem more fluid as well.

Thanks for the heads up. I was just there last week but didn't venture into the gaming section. I'll be sure to pick up a copy on the way home after work tomorrow.

BTW did you notice the new Apple section in BestBuy now? It's no Apple store but I finally got the chance to play with the new Mac Book and Mac Book Pros. Had to see what all the hubbub was about with the new glossy screens.

Yeah I was (probably still) going to blog about the glossy screen controversy.

I see you're still avoiding the normal map blog? I'll give you one more week before I peek at your draft!
