WALL-E and Friends
Like most animation fans, I'm looking forward to watching WALL-E (apparently not spelled with a *) next weekend. Each trailer I watch looks better than the last.
I couldn't help noticing all the blog chatter about how Pixar's latest robot looks a lot like Johnny 5 from Short Circuit. Even the movie posters look a bit similar. What do you guys think?

While there is a big resemblance to No. 5, the difference between the two will be how much money Wall-E will make compared to Short Circuit!
I tried watching that movie a long time ago, several times, and just couldn't sit through the whole thing. I liked No. 5, sorta, but gads what a movie. Won't be on my BRD list ever!
Wall-E on the other hand is on my list and it's still not out yet!
And speaking of BRD lists, how long do you think till Lucas jumps on the bandwagon to release SW and Indy on blueray? I don't think it's Fox or Universal that has the final say on those 2 titles, I'm pretty sure he has the final word on it.
Isn't there a No. 5 in the Star Tours queue at Disneyland?
Heh, I guess you could see a similarity between No. 5 and the naked altered animatronic of what used to be one of the singing cranes(?) from America Sings. Anybody know what kind of bird it was?
Now you're making me want to go into the park and get in line so I can take a picture of it! Darn you, Rob!
Heh that's funny! Finally a bit of trivia from the Disney insider! I had no idea that it was a recycled animatronic. I always assumed it was a tribute to Short Circuit after Annel mistakenly called it "Circuit City" several years ago. :)
No need to make a special trip inside the park-that's what Flickr is for!
According to Yesterland, the "Circuit City" animatronic used to be a goose at America Sings.
Ok, that sounds more accurate. I dunno why I thought crane. I still think it may have been some other kind of bird based on the "bill/beak," but I guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks!
And I never knew Annel called it Circuit City! That's great!
